Many people have the misconception that someone with the knowledge of two or more languages can easily translate from one to the other language. Yes, someone can translate simple text from one language to another. But it is not so easy when the text is complex. For example, when you want to have some legal or financial translation done from one language to another, a specialist is what you need. Financial translation in Hong Kong or legal translation in Hong Kong can only be done from Chinese to English and vice versa by people that are professionals.

It’s true that in foreign countries it’s useful to know even a small amount of a language, such as trying to learn Spanish in Spain, because that could be enough to get you through at least simple conversations.
